This paper considers the ongoing and planned actions of the Welsh authorities aimed at maintaining the dynamics of the development of creative industries, which have found themselves in a difficult situation as a result of the negative effects f Brexit and the Covid-19 pandemic. The Welsh Government’s awareness of the creative sector importance to the entire regional economy requires financial and technical assistance. However, in the context of the deepening development dichotomy of the screen industry and other parts of the creative sector, the achieved effects do not meet expectations, causing weak creative industries to become increasingly dependent on subsidies from the regional (and national) budget
