Abstract
The article refers to the problem of prohibition of competition imposed on the members of the board of directors and the supervisory board of the cooperative. The Author analyzes the concepts of "competitive business" and "competitive activity" and their mutual relationship, as well as the consequences of violation of the prohibition. On the basis of interpretation of the existing legal provisions and judicature's views, the Author enunciates de lege ferenda conclusions in terms of their clarification and elimination of doubts.The papers published in the ASEJ Journal (alternate title: Zeszyty Naukowe Wyższej Szkoły Finansów i Prawa w Bielsku-Białej) - published by the University of Applied Sciences in Bielsko-Biała, are online open access distributed (Creative Commons Attribution CC-BY-NC 4.0 license).
